My name is Jeffrey Leichel (1963). Born in Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, an island under Australia.
At the age of 7 I moved to the Netherlands and grew up in Haarlem. After my military service in the Royal Air Force at an American missile base in Germany, I started my career in the insurance and financial world and have been active in various marketing and management positions.
In 2003 I took the leap into self-employment. The common thread through all my activities is communication. Whether that is writing a press release, writing columns, delivering a research paper, developing a brochure, conducting interviews or recording a radio commercial, or.... writing a book.
I love the power of words, voice and images.
Noteworthy achievements.
- Was a guest as financial expert in the Dutch Zembla broadcast about the usury policy, a big scandal in Holland where insurance companies harmed millions of people.
- Various publications in the Dutch 'De Financiële Telegraaf'.
- Written and self-published the book 'Financially Smart In 6 Steps' (Dutch).
- Co-writer and self-published the trade book 'Provisie 2.0', about the termination of provision on complex financial products in Holland.
- Written various white papers for the financial industry.
- Lobbyist at the Ministry of Finance as representative for financial intermediaries in Holland.
- Built many websites (including content) and developed many digital brochures.
- Been a columnist for Biflatie, a Dutch economic website and produced various other publications for the Dutch trade press in finance.
- Gained some popularity under the avatar 'Pius Consilium', a critic in the financial industry and the first ever avatar in the financial sector.
- Moderator for an international Telegram community in the crypto industry for 8 years.
- Wrote and published a newsletter (subscription) aimed at investors in the precious metal Silver.
- Was a guest as a financial expert in a radio broadcast by Dutch broadcaster EO.
- Written the political party program, set up the website and created all content on the website, social media channels and for the election campaign 2022 for the local political party GB Apeldoorn, including voice over for a radio campaign.
- Created several videos in multiple languages with AI-tool Synthesia.
One of my main motivations behind writing is tackling injustice. When I see injustice somewhere, I instantly become a warrior for truth. I will not rest until that injustice has been investigated thoroughly and translated into a confronting article to expose everything.
I would also love to do something with YouTube or a podcast, but there are really only 24 hours in a day.
